Grants
The USAID Competitiveness Project is implementing a $2 million cost-sharing Small Grants Fund to advance project objectives by providing targeted support to institutions, private sector partners, NGOs and government organizations to carry out activities and make investments that will enhance Serbian competitiveness. Grants will be used to promote sales, exports and investments, as well as improve the policy environment and support human and institutional capacity/workforce development initiatives that respond to the needs of the private sector. Grant awards will have a ceiling of $15,000, but amounts up to $25,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Grants are on a cost-share basis, with the Grantee required to cover at least 50% of the activity or investment costs. In some cases, the grants will be reimbursements, meaning that the Grantee covers all of the initial costs and the project reimburses up to 50% following implementation of the activity. Other grants will be awarded as disbursements to vendors or other subcontractors to provide goods and services directly to the Grantee. The Grantee will be required to meet certain reporting requirements, including providing regular updates on the benefits realized from participating in the Grants Program. Project grants will primarily support services, although commodities - such as the procurement of equipment – will be considered on a limited basis. The Grants Program will seek to maintain maximum flexibility and encourage creativity among applicants. The application documents can be sent to you and be submitted to the project electronically.
